David Sebald is the director/owner of the multimedia production company,
Advanced Instructional Media . Since 1990, this company has produced numerous
multimedia educational products including nationally distributed videos and CD-ROMs.
Dave is also associate professor of music at the University of Texas at San Antonio
and adjunct professor teaching multimedia at Northwest Vista College . Dave holds
a Ph.D. in music education from Michigan State University with cognates in instructional
technology and educational product development. Since completing his 1981 dissertation
on the development of multimedia products for use in teacher training, he has
written numerous articles and presented clinics throughout the nation
on the creative application of computers and multimedia to all
areas
of education. In addition to teaching computer applications, digital audio, and
multimedia production courses at UTSA and Northwest Vista, he serves as technology
advisor
to both
UTSA's music division and the UTSA Institute for Music Research . He is co-author
of the national multimedia training curriculum for the Technology Institute for
Music Educators. In
1993 Dave initiated the Technological Directions in Music Learning Conference,
an
international
event sponsored by the IMR and
held annually in San Antonio. Currently, Dave is state technology chairman for
the Texas Music Educators Conference and a member of the national advisory board
of the Technology Institute for Music Educators (TIME) . Prior to coming to San
Antonio in 1989 Dave headed public school fine arts and music programs in Michigan
and Colorado and was Director of Bands at Fort Hays State University in Hays,
Kansas.
